In the eternal struggle between human and robot, the humans have won the battle at Vivid Tables customer service, where I greatly enjoyed conversing in a non-scripted manner over the length of the project with actual people; they even went as far as to humor my brand of anal-retentive particularities by sending me example snapshots over email and adjusting the design of my etched vinyl printout with the patience of Bhuddist monks approaching enlightenment (and within 24 hours of contacting them on weekdays). I would like to thank the person attached to the hand in the snapshot provided to me as a visual example of the frostiness of the frosted vinyl for their efforts. Despite the best efforts of the post office, the product still arrived well within the estimated shipping time on my doorstep and the quality was as-advertised, down to the last pixel. They were even able to adjust the design so that when the piece was cut into its custom shape for my glass door insert, none of the printed images were cut off. I suspect they used black magic to accomplish this since I also requested a specific size of the actual pattern repetition on top of having it fit into the custom product dimensions I asked for. My only complaint is the reluctance with which the actual vinyl covering was willing to part with its paper backing. I would encourage VividTables to use a different type of backing paper so that it doesn't tear and peel off onto the back of the vinyl (we were able to remove the excess by soaking it in solution and gouging it off with our fingernails like savages). If you don't have a thousand bucks sitting around for a custom glass door insert, I recommend VividTables for all your etched and frosted vinyl needs.
